Black Ice System V2

I am curious what changed between Black Ice V1 and V2. Obviously the instructions are different and there are only 3 waxes / polishes being used but wasn't sure if the 3 waxes / polishes are the same as the V1 system or if they are different.

If they are the same waxes / polishes - which ones were kept versus which one went away?

Been lurking for over a year and finally going to break down and post a question. What brand of car wash are people using when prepping with the Black Ice system from DD4H? I have used DD4Hs other wheel prep products (like Red Rocket) and had awesome luck. Thanks to all of you for the wealth of Pinewood information available on this site!

I use Meguires. In a big purplish bottle.

Any non stripping wax car wash works .. I recently bought a new bottle of the Turtle wax car wash that don't strip and I like it a lot ..

I use Blue Coral car wash I purchase at Menards. Like JBD mentioned, just make sure it says it will not remove wax.

John, So we are not supposed to use the #2 polish correct. I think you site instructions still references using the #2 polish. Are the instructions on your store site correct?

If you have the 4 polish system then the #2 is optional. The 3 polish system it is MANDATORY.

OK, so eliminate the old Polish #2, re-label the original #3 as #2 and #4 as #3 and follow the new instructions. Think I got that.

I didn't see re-prep really addressed. I was thinking that I should start with the new Step #2, BUT use a non-wax, non-stripping auto cleaner INSTEAD of Dawn for the initial cleaning, then following along as currently specified.

Does that make sense ? BTW, there is currently two Step #3's, but who's counting ...
