Break out mania

From the slower guy.
I'm glad DC broke out, I don't have to see him again.
I hope next race LJO breaks out, I won't have to follow him anymore either.
Then I hope I break out after that.
Isn't that how it's suppose to work ?

Like Crane recommended, I "come to get some" every race. Just not up there or today. lol
A tip to the Pro's
Thanks to all of the forum members, I have never heard NO when I have asked questions.
I could see you rolling your eye's.

Pack a lunch & run what you brung.

Great comment Jup, Will gladly move up if I break outs well after only my 4th Proxy. The all nighters are starting to pay off. The test track should help me break out which is great Im not satisfied with staying in Am because that shows no progress vs the hours spent in the shop. We ain't skeert and neither are you.

The break out rule has been removed. D&C is where he belongs and I know he is doing his own work. You can't stop someone from buying a car.

To combat this I am going to offer a tier 2 sponsorship to every racer that races 4 out of 5 races in the Scout and BASX AM groups. If you race I will help you improve. I am going to create a separate section in this forum for the sponsored racers to get top level help from me and Ballistic Racing. You will get FAST.

Class act John. I’ve apologized to DC personally if I’ve put him in a position that he didn’t deserve. That never was my intention but just posing a question about a scenario I knew was going to happen. Sorry if I caused you or Ballistic any grief.......RRR

Don't forget about Wrightstuff. He needs a target on his back too. Not only is he fast, he builds some of the best looking cars I've seen.

let’s just keep that target on you front runners LOL, hell, I didn’t even make the cut for finals.

so what’s the word on this? Is D&C getting bumped to pro? His car ran faster than several of the pro level cars if I remember correctly.

People cheat, yes. Someone might even think that you bought a car RRR, two of your cars were at the bottom, and then you have a super fast car in the top 3.

I’m not saying you cheated, but it certainly makes me go Hmm.

good luck to all in the series. I’ll be back for the race next month, but at this point I’m still trying to figure out how to change up my builds to get up to the finals and hopefully up to that top spot one of these days.

Great race everyone. That

Great race everyone. A few thousandths between 1st and 3rd. I am new to racing and not familiar with the term 'breaking out' but will leave it to John as to how this plays out. I would love to race the BASX AM series and have built a bunch of cars for it to try different things. My hope all along was to be in the running for the sponsorship by virtue of just getting a car entered every month. If I have to move to pro, so be it. I just want to continue to learn and get faster.

If anyone wants to reach out to me independently to share tips and ideas, please do. I love to talk cars and love the process to get them faster.

please don’t give this guy anymore help, he doesn’t need it. LMAO!

So, is D&C also pack 195? I thought those cars looked familiar... And they have a similar naming convention. You guys need to keep the names of your cars the same instead of renaming them for each league/race.

I’ve been thinking about the break out rule, and what seems fair to me is if a car breaks out of the AM status then that car should have to move up, but the builder should be able to continue in the series but not be able to race the car that broke out. Just my opinion though which is self serving, cause I want Bam Bam out! But it does make sense to my brain.

I would also say if a builder continues to break out month over month, there should be a point when enough is enough. Like your cars beat everyone by going under 2.5 for two months then the builder moves up.

throwing out the rules doesn’t seem quite fair to the rest of the field IMO.

I have 6 colors of vinyl that I can change if I break out. You can't police that either.
Let's just run them & let the chips fall.

It's going to be a good series,
Luck to all.

Then why have rules at all? If D&C gets to continue in the series with the same car that should have gotten him bumped to pro, then maybe I should run lighter wheels. Not saying that I would violate the rules, but where’s the line?

that’s also why I suggested if a builder does it two months in a row then they move to pro.

I have what I think is a reasonable resolution for the future. Let all of the builders stay in Am for the predetermined amount of time(a season, or a year or whatever). If said builder goes faster than 2.9500 for a given race, move those times to the pro division and let the cards fall where they land. The next race the builder can still enter Am with the same car, and either break out again, or learn to how to tune it slower.
