Breaking the ice

Hello all,


I have been a member for some time and here recently have frequented the forum more lurking about trying to get a grip on the sport and advancements and such. I have a younger son that is not in the boy scouts but is in Awana's. Now, he isn't of age yet to do a PWD car but they allow them to race hot wheels. But I wanted to start collecting information now so I do not find myself blind sided and very ill prepared. I travel a lot for work and work long hours at times. But the call I got from the Mrs. with how disappointed my son was when he lost the hot wheels race was devastating to me. So I vowed I would do all I could to prevent that in PWD when he is of age. So, here I am. I anticipate barraging all of you experts and pioneers of the sport over time. Thanks in advance.

Thank you Rocket car. I know there is a lot of information out there and realize it is a competitive market for those in the business of making go fast goodies and developing better techniques to win races. I hope to comprise enough knowledge and skill to help my son and eventually my daughter have fond memories of AWANA races and victory.

Read all the threads here about building. Then read them some more. Keep reading them. There is so much good info here that it's overwhelming, honestly. You can't just spend a few nights and get it all. It will take quite awhile.

This is exactly what I did when I first found this forum. Weeks of reading, I was like a sponge soaking it all up. Just about everything you need to know is here & when your’e done reading & starting a build, ask away, the help here if amazing!

Yes. I have already made sure to get premier access and started watching the videos and taking notes. And I am sure I did not quite get it all. To be honest some of the development you guys have come up with through either education or good ole trial and error is intense and somewhat over whelming. However, I totally dig how in depth you all have become in your respective love and admiration for competition and the sport. Look forward to learning so much more.
