So just put slots in it.
They definitely help. We ran them. What's about fenders? I see they are the latest craze
They definitely help. We ran them.
Definitely were okay in Pro Stock. Our district and council rules were so strict. Had to have 4 wheels rolling at same time, no bent axles, factory slots used. Our council seems to be at a disadvantage. Can you run the fenders on the stock class and prostock?
BTW, you don't have to run your same car that you ran locally.
We never ran our car anywhere. Set the steer for four inches over 4 feet and packed it up.The only thing is, I have proof of my times. Nowhere around me to test before I put it on track

you guys should really consider Racing at the real nationals Mid America Pinewood Derby ... www.midamericaderby.comOk..I think right now I'm at 3.75 over 4 feet.
Mid Am's is a great race.you guys should really consider Racing at the real nationals Mid America Pinewood Derby ... www.midamericaderby.com
Mid Am's is a great race.
I don't see the need in sniping at a race, to build another up. They are both fun. And in different months. Race both.
I wonna do both, rules are so different. Seem extremely tight in NYC, and more open at mid-america
Yes, I understand all the particulars, and yes, there are on average, definitely faster cars at the Mid-Am's.not saying that the race in NYC isn't .. they market themselves as the world championships we have been considered the nationals and the level of competition at Mid America doesn't get any tighter and highly competitive
wowYes, I understand all the particulars, and yes, there are on average, probably faster cars at the Mid-Am's.
However, the NY race is strictly a Scout race. And it's current scouts only. And only district/council racers who placed 1-3 THIS year.
Anyone can find a class at the Mid-Am's. And that's great, but they are really two different things. One is for current scouts only, the other is a more diverse race.
You are far less likely to be racing some pro's kid in NY like you see at the Mid-Am's, unless a pro happens to have a current scout. And then it won't be a bunch of them, like at MA.
Again, race 'em both. Both are awesome. But they are two different things.
I am almost 100% that you've raced at MAPWD.... maybe I'm wrongwow
that sounds snipey... and to race in any of our scout divisions you HAVE to be an active scout ... i support what's going on in NYC big time and it's awesome that we keep growing this part of scouts. it is what the Mid America Pinewood Derby is all about ... it's not really the differences mentioned above .. it really comes down to differences in the rules application and execution... pacfan... have you raced at MAPWD
Dude....I'm not sniping at anyone. YOU are the one who came in here with a little potshot at the other race.wow

All I did was explain the differences and say both were great, but not really the same thing.
Again, both are great and you do a great job with yours.
My condolences to you and your family. My Grandmother passed right before Christmas. Not a fun holiday season here.I wasn't trying to take any pot shots my apologies if I did ... and thank you. I agree both are excellent events ... tuff week as my grandmother passed on sat and I might be a little off kilter
