Building for Wood Track

I have to help build a car for a cub who races on a wood track. I have never seen the wood track
but I am just guessing it does have a rail.
I don't think I could get this cub to do any special staging/ probably just throw it up and go on.
Should I just narrow the fronts and keep the fronts straight? and drill rears on 3deg.
Never raced or built anything for a wood track.

If you have a center rail, you can still narrow the front and cant the rears. Some will add a little more steer if it is a rough track 5-6 inches in 4 ft with a 3/4 to 1 in COM. If it's smoother track, could reduce steer to 4-5 in.

You've got to find out if it's a center rail, most are but if it's not you'll be building a losing car. If it's not, it'll steer to the outside rail and drag the rear wheel the whole way down. That would be the first bit of info I would try to get. /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

The odds of it being a center guide are in your favor, but there is that small chance.

Just standard drift 3-4" in 4'?....my last 4 builds has been just right there, but for a Best Track....

You should have a chairman for your Pack's PWD. That would be the person to contact.
