I think I got the painting down, now all I need to do is figure out how to get the speed you all are getting??? This is my Anniversary car. I built this for me, not really to race but just to sit next to my old car and really I just wanted to see the look on my step-dads face as he "helped" me with my first one all those years ago, and we all know how much work a ten year old does. People also told me a three tone paint job would not look good??? I dont know if I would agree?

Sorry Chief!

Ya I am getting pretty good a polishing "Turds" hahaha. It very well be a Hunka, not to mention SLOW, but if yo look at my old car and then this one you can see my inspiration.

Chief,

I love your design! I am a guy that has a hard time making a "plank" style car because i enjoy some style in my cars. With this car, I see you are probably the same way.
clap
Look forward to hearing how it does and wish you all the best with it.

Hey Thanx! Right back at ya. I have like a lot of your stuff too. I dont know if any of my cars will be all that fast compared to you pros but I like originality. I am that way with all my stuff...I dont ride a Harley and I wont own a ford, etc. I like being unique. I really like your last pic, I had the same kind of idea last year, however, I was looking at using aluminum dowel rods and I wanted them a bit wider than yours, but then I would not be able to race it in our pack because of the same O stupid rules so I never did anything but draw it on paper. What are yours made from?

Chief,

Actually my newest car was made from an official BSA block from a BSA kit I had laying around. The rods are 3/16" carbon fiber tubing. I originally was looking to use 3/16" ground aluminum rod but it had too much flex for me. The carbon is super stiff!

I bow to your paint skills.

And your fabrication skills.

And probably your speed too.

Much appreciated but not necessary. There is always someone better. We are all here to learn from each other and make new friends!! And as far as speed goes...well that remains to be seen. So for now, all I can do is try to make them look as good as I can... I also try to make them look Fast...dont know if that helps but it is cool..

It truly is a great looking car. I will give you one piece of advice. Make sure you have a spacer of some sort on the rear wheels. All the cars that I have seen running full body sides always have clearance issues, so I would say make sure there is no wheel to body contact.
