Is the Cheetah Kiss Axle Polish applied while the axle is spinning in the dremel or applied by hand with a rag? After cleaning with glass cleaner still spray the axles with Jig as we normally do? I searched but didn't find any instructions.

Is there a reason why ur using window cleaner Mr. B?!
The product description on John's retail site said to clean the axle with window cleaner. Windex was the only window cleaner in the house.

I have never used window cleaner, but it does not leave a haze behind. I'm sure people will test this!

What do you think?

I switched from 91% alcohol to Sprayway Glass Cleaner right before Nationals. Since I wan't using Cheetah KISS as a final polish did I screw up by using glass cleaner? I have done a bit of research on the net and came to conclude alcohol leaves a residue/film,(Europe calls IPA Surgical Spirits FYI).

How about this product as an axle cleaner- anyone tried it? Not sure if I like the fact that it "protects" the metal- sounds like a film being left behind to me.

I have been washing with Dawn after the alcohol cleaning. Expecting that to take care of the ISO residue.

For axle prep, I stay away from any product that claims it "protects". I don't want anything between the metal and the Jig.

Been using Dawn on the wheels, never thought of washing them with Dawn. Thanks fellas!!

Though. I can't help but wonder if you guys use distilled water or straight from the tap?
Water in my neck of the woods is full of Fluoride, Chlorine and God only knows what else.
Not sure if these chemicals are prone to leaving a residue, but they seem to leave a "residue" in those who partake.

T-shirt huh, so that's the secret!! Cotton, wool or polyester and what kind of laundry detergent do you use? Any dryer sheets used?

To final clean my axels I spray them with "Brakeclean" that I got from my auto parts supply store. Caution - do not ever use this on BSA wheels - it will attack the plastic!
