-is the inside edge of the cheetah v.3 still thick? say .055/.060?

-is there a visible difference between the 2 wheels?
if so, is it easily detectable w/ the naked eye? or would you have to use a loupe or disassemble the car to find it?

-we are going to regionals.....and I feel like im pushing our rules w/the cheetah v.3... I don't thing that the RAGE is enough to run with the top competition (based on last years results).... and if there is no visible difference between the v.3 and the extremes maybe I should just go with the extremes????

If I check in cars & wheels at Cub races, ( assuming they HAVE rules on the wheels) I have to do it fast, and you can pick out a super thin wall and or a sharp edge by feel without making a big deal about it.. Then those cars can get more of a look, and I think I can quickly catch all but wheels done as well as a cheetah v3. The xtreme is hard to see, but a finger inside the rim sets off the alarm. Odds are the checker will miss it- but can you bring another set of V3's and get it tuned if you get disqualified Or worse, you win and THEN they take a long look. Go with v3 and you keep an eye on any that beat you. I have seen some 1 gramers get by that were flexing in the wind, and once pointed out, were disqualified fast. I bring an old Nitro on a string around my neck to show I will be checking for thin walls ( you can also say "I was told this-hold up the Nitro- was illegal, why did they get to run it?. Unless they have a specific weight limit and pull wheels to verify- v3 will pass

THANKS txchemist!! I needed the comparison on the wheels and the suggestion on strategy is perfect. You are right on... if someone is way out front they have to have something we don't... I think we will just go w/ the v.3's and see what happens!

YUP, if they beat us, they must have pulled something- seriously- we are running V3 tomorrow in our District, and hope to set the track record held by big brother who ran nitros before they were against the rules. District is usually lax because they want high participation so entry fees help pay off the track.

v3 rocks!
set track record and took 1st place- photo later in car section. Got to hear a nice lecture from a father of one of the kids showing us how to use Dby WX tools and how to make a 3 wheel RR!!, how to groove the axles, on and on he went. My grandkids are very polite, they listened with full attention and thanked him for the info. He said it was too bad he could not have told us in time to improve our car. We beat him by an average of 0.13 sec { not a typo, 0.13 sec.} on the 42 ft track as he only took second. It was brutal. I went to find him and suggest DD4H might help, but he slithered away after the race.

HAHAHAHAH!!!!

You are the man TX!

I could see those little genius grandkids of yours making mental notations of the errors in his technique, but not saying a word.

LOL! Oh man! That guy had no idea who he was talking to.

Great job!

Who would think you could have so much fun and still not break sub 3!!

But I have had some strange new ideas creep into my head that I just have to try out. Then again, it might be my wife's meatloaf kicking up again
