I heard that happened at the state inspection station back when we still had those but never at our shop! Our inspections are done now just by plugging in, no dynos required.
 
I knew a model maker that worked out of small studio apt near Times Square.

The place was so small that she would store her spray paint in the oven.

One day she needed to thermoform some acrylic so she pre heated the oven and ran out to get something at the store.

When she got back the fire dept. was there and her apt was totally destroyed.

Betcha there is a sliding scale that the bean counters use that is based on fun vs. liability.
