Read some old post and found people using many different ways to re prep there wheels. Is the best way to wash with soap and then re wax? What about cleaning the tread? I see john sells now a tread cleaner, is that just a fine grit sand paper? What is the best way to make your wheels last? Thanks

Wash with a car wash soap and re-wax.
Key point RC is making. Use car soap, not Dawn or some type of dish detergent. Car wash will leave the exiting wax intact and you just re-wax, while Dawn will strip wax out.

I bought this sometime ago:

But they only seemed to be sold in China and it was forever and a year to get. It does work well though. I just looked and I see John has this:

I would save my self some crazy shipping costs and customs delays and get John's. Unfortunately, I never knew John had those. Clean wheels are fast wheels.
