Hello ...... I have a set of DD fenders that I want to clear coat. What do you recommend? I heard there is an automotive aerosol that works well. Has anyone tried it and will it hurt the plastic? Also, how do you attach them to the car - ca glue, epoxy, etc. Thanks

Dunno why people wants to use these heavy duty paints on such delicate objects.
I don't own DD fenders, but I like Krylon for spraying because I know what to expect.
Just my 2 cents. It will probably work fine but no telling.

I painted the Gee fenders with" Krylon Fusion paint for plastic" first. Then painted over that with lacquer paint and finished up with Spray Max 2K. It put a nice shine on the fenders and it didn't have any adverse effects. This is my son's 4 flat scout car painted using this method. It was a quick car and finished first going away. (The wheels are just out of the box. I just put them on for the pic while he was prepping his race wheels.)

CatFan27, Did you paint the car first and then install the painted fenders? or install the fenders and tape them off? I am trying to decide how to paint the car and use the black fenders. I am worried that if I paint the car first the fenders may not stick to the painted area. Thought about trying to tape off the area where the fenders glue on, but not sure I could get it to look as good. Still deciding.

CDB Racing, I painted the cars and fenders separately. Before attaching them I lightly sanded the portion of the fender that attaches to the body. I also lightly sanded the body at the point of attachment. I used Slo-Zap Thick CA glue which gave me plenty of time to get the fenders adjusted. I used a tip someone mentioned here on the forum of wrapping a rubber band around the wheel to use as a spacer. Hope this helps!

Thanks, I think I am going to use a waterslide for the logo instead of painting. That will help with the Painting.

Thanks guys. I have learned so much from reading this forum over the past 1.5 years. It's amazing how generous all the pros are with sharing their knowledge! This truly is the BEST place to get sound advice when building a car/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif
