COG Refresher

Greeting Gents

First of all I'd like to thank Derby Dad for his help and guidance. My son's car took 1st place last year! So thanks again!

It's been a while since I built an extended wheel base. I know with a standard BSA wheel base the COG is 3/4 inches forward of the axle. Is it still the same for the extended base?

Yes, it will just be a little tougher getting the weight behind the rear axle because the wheels are all the way back. Depending on how much wood you leave you may end up with a COM of more than 3/4", but that is ok because you still have more weight further back in the car than you did with a standard WB.

I figured as much. Just needed a refresher. I have t down to 7/8 which should be good enough.

A lot of time when in to the "King Cheetah". It was doing about 3.0~3.01 on average on an aluminum track. Not too if I might say bad.
