Twas very close. Not only is he a national champ, but a great guy and insanely hard worker. Since he was prestaging we were able to talk a lot, and he gave me some awesome pointers and tips. Thanks for coming, helping, and participating. A true class act!

Agree, big congrats to him.

I know he was buried with his car builds yet he also took time to field questions from me in the week leading up to the big race.

Thanks everybody…. Every division was super competitive and you had to fight for every thousandth. Long gone are the days of one racer dominating every class. With the information sharing here at the NPWDRL and DD4H not holding back and offering the fastest products available it is only going to get better.

In the past I would always feel like there was one guy or team that was walking on everybody else, but that is not the case now. I don’t see any super secret prep or build technique in any class that has not been given out here at the NPWDRL (well let’s leave JB07 out of the discussion).

For you newer guys… there were no slow cars last weekend and everybody seemed to have solid and impressive builds. The products being sold at DD4H and the techniques being discussed here are how the top racers got to the top. You just have to put it all together and there is only one way to do that… race… and race some more. Less is more and most people over think a build. Start simple and do the basics well.

Ok, regarding this .0007 win…. I would have been nowhere close to Quicktime in the overall race if he hadn’t helped me stage my cars. I told him more than one time that I thought it was tacky that I ask him to help me stage my cars since we were in direct competition. Each time he told me it was no problem and he didn’t care about that and he proceeded to help me stage my cars. Quite the guy that Quicktime isJ You would think I would know how to stage a car by now, but I am, for the most part, a proxy racer…. and to make matters worse I have to stage from the side of the track at home because my track is up against a wall.

Looking back I think I lost like .030+ on that last run in Street Rod! SOB! So close! I was glad to see Chuck, SG3, pick up a title though….. not as glad as I would have been getting it… lol…

By all means, congratulations Scott! I had this feeling when you told me how many cars you were working on, some way, some how something good was going to happen for you.

Its is great to see your drive and dedication to this sport. You help so many builders become better. Thank you.

I think that both 5Kids and Quicktime can build awesome cars for any class, and are class acts as well. Congrats to both of them for what they brought to that race. I was really an honor being around those guys during the races this last weekend.

There was that "couldnd't have been worse" comment though that I will remember for a while ...

Some incentive for the next round !

Yes, Congrats!

5KidsRacing has definitely left his mark at the top of pwd racing.

One of my agenda items for the nationals was to get a look at some real 5KidsRacing cars. I wanted to see first hand what smoked us at Mid America.

They all looked great.

It was great meeting you and interesting to hear your proxy perspective on staging the cars. I would have never guessed.

Yep amazing job 5 kids. I had a blast watching all you big dogs go at it. Some very close racing. I cant wait till our Ohio team can hold our own against you guys and make this thing even more competitive.
