I helped this kid out in his pack race. He came up to the shop a couple nights and His dad and I helped him construct a winning car thanks to the stuff I've learned here. Thanks guys, enjoy!

Is that a spark plug on that plaque? Homemade trophies ?

Congrats on helping them out - someday he'll probably be able to help someone too !

I think one of the dads built them, he said the kids could drill a hole in the bottom of the car and use it as a car display stand, they were pretty cool although if the kid I helped saw his dad drilling a hole through the car I think he'd cry. He asked me after the race if I knew what the fastest car in the world was? I told him I'm not sure but I know the guys who build them

Very impressive. You'll probably be racing him a league in a few years. What caught my attention right away was when you mentioned he came over to your shop a couple of nights. It takes us literally months to build ours. I think I spend as much time holding it in my hand, turning it this way and that and just looking at it as we spend actually wrenching on it.

Lol, I know how you feel. We have a system we're getting down from the stuff I've learned here and from 5 kids scout build plans. I will spend as much time as a kid wants, if they have a real interest I will go into major depth of the why we do things this way, if they just want to paint and get it over with then that's the rout we go. I do have fun going to the races and watching the kid we helped and being undercover, I really laugh at the dads who are pissed cuz a kid that normally had no shot smokes the know it all father son team.

That's cool. Our first car was an 8-wheeled tank and we did OK at the Pack. 4 yrs later we've learned a bit more. My boy said today that next year he'd like to build another 8-wheeled tank but use the info we've learned to make it fast.

I'm already picturing a hershey bar car, low slung turret with short balsa cannon, the center wheels cut in half so only the bottoms are visible then run a full-length skirt front to back across the top half of all wheels. Skirt wraps around front wheels like a fender....wait a second... it's my boy's car.

Way to go Bulldog, pass it on forward. I strongly believe in good Karma. The more you help others the better! Way to promote and represent NPWDRL! Awesome job.

I agree, look at Wisconsin and Omaha, they are all building because guys reach out and help. We have our template to follow. I love to see the smiles on a kids face but the dads smile is pretty cool as well!
