Dawes Family Pinewood Derby Cars for 2013

Here are the 6 cars that we have made so far for this years Pinewood Derby Season... They are all very consistent and the closest set of cars we have ever made... any one of them can beat the other with the exception of "Percy the Train" - although very fast... it is just running on heavier wheels than the others... We essentially swept our Pack races and are now on to Districts and hope to do well enough that we are able to run in the Qualified Scout Division at the www.midamericaderby.com - We have about 5 or 7 more cars to build for the Mid America Pinewood Derby 3 for the Mid America Stock Division and 2 for the Modified Division and possibly 2 for the Open Scout Division. The coolest thing is that the Kidos are really getting into all the steps and understanding of what goes into making an exceptional car... I hope all of you are having as much fun as we are this year building and racing cars... I am so grateful to all the knowledge and information that I have learned here and elsewhere over the last 3+ years... it is amazing how quickly you improve... it almost isnt fair at the Pack Level.

Nice cars! Now I know my son's competition in Bears this year. LOL! This year, he is planning on raising his 4th wheel unlike last year.

A Sharp fleet of cars. Each car has a unique color scheme with graphics, very nice!

Great looking cars! They look fast! Hoping to make it to Mid-America for the first time. Live in KC which is not too bad a drive, trying to talk the wife into it. We may bring a small bus with some Scouts from our Pack. I'm trying to get it going. Prizes look awesome!
