I finally finished this car and am very pleased with how tight and solid it is. weighs in at around 2.3 ounces. Here's a shot of the underbelly. I'll post some pics of the insides

Mounting it without the 4 screws this time and it seems to be a lot more solid.

Thanks for the compliments guys- here's the topside photo. Looking forward to watching it run down the track. When I painted and assembled the model back in the early 2000s I had no idea what the future would hold for it.

Kits pop up on ebay from time to time and can be had for cheap- $10-15.

Sweet dude, where do you guys get models to do this? (I need to get a 66 SS)

66 Nova SS

66 Chevy SS

Hobby Lobby has a pretty big selection of model kits. Plus they have a 40% off coupon online. Print the coupon, go to the store, pick out your kit, and save.

If, however, they don't have what you're looking for, eBay.

Here's my original eBay Street Rods search: 1955-1974 1:25 scale cars from Revell or AMT (this was from when the switch from the three specific models was being opened up. My expectation was that the class would remain restricted to muscle cars) You can cut the years out of the search string to get all currently legal models. Which will change again, too, if the change is made to allow 1:24 and/or other brands.
