Why is there so much drama in pinewood derby league racing? I understand the competition and the smack talk but there is a certain amount of back stabbing that takes place. If this pricks your conscience, I may be talking about you!

Yeah, it seems like every derby discussion devolves into a knife fight when two people can't agree to disagree like gentlemen. It's a bit like romper-room at times actually.
But you've got to have that aggressive attitude to race these cars, but the backstabbing is tiresome.

We are grown a** men playing with little toy cars. Throw a little competition, smack talk, ego in there and the behavior just spirals downward. Once that happens the Keyboard Hero's flex their wit and show just how ridicules the drama can get.
No not you. I'm talking about the biggest douchebag in the history of pinewood derby.

I know who all the references are to. Depending on which forum you read the tag changes. In general, if you support me then you must be a nutswinger. My competition has taken to shaming people for showing me support. I personally have taken nothing but heat from one side or the other since I built my store and Jewkes online store. Every method was used to suppress us because we did not support Derby Worx products. Jewkes started the DW revolution when they formed PDDR and I joined the fray shortly after I started league racing. It is actually a fantastic story of events leading up to the world of pinewood derby we have today. There is a strong lack of respect for the pioneers of this hobby especially from a certain few who think all the information that is freely given on this site was first obtained with no sacrifice at all. Add in all the false stories of this and that by people who had no involvement and you get some wonderful villains created. That is the Liberal society we live in today.
Everyone involved in this industry has at least a few warts and sooner or later somebody gets mad and does everything they can to expose them. Whoever is on top and thriving will soon be savagely attacked and the beat goes on. Vendors and people come and go but I can say this, the Pioneers are still there providing the best parts.
