Derby Freaks “The List”
Top Ranked Pinewood Derby Racers In The USA!
House Rules:
1. To be on the “The List” you must: Be a member of the www.pinewoodderbyonline.com forum using your racing name as your member name. Have a race team logo for your forum avatar.
2. You must be prepared to defend your spot on “The List”.
3. Once it begins, a builder moves up “The List” by calling out and challenging a builder that is ranked above him. You can call out someone within 3 spots of you until you get to the top 5 then it is 1 spot at a time. You cannot call out the same person 2 times in a row unless you are in the top 5. If you call out the person directly above you and lose then you do not drop on the list. If you skip one and lose then you drop one spot. If you skip two and lose then you drop two spots. Risk/ Reward! You can risk moving up the list faster if you choose but you will fall if you fail.
4. You can only challenge on “The List” using a BASX Class car until you reach the top 10. Once you are in the top 10, the challenger picks the class choosing from the BASX, Street Stock, Street Pro, Eliminator or Unlimited Classes.
5. The winner of the match is determined by a best of 5 race off heads up.
6. The cost for each match is $10 paid for by the CHALLENGER.
7. Make sure and include a prepaid shipping label to return the car!
How to challenge:
1. Using the www.pinewoodderbyonline.com forum go to your inbox and “start a new conversation.” In the participants section select the builder you are challenging and also derbydad4hire and make your call out. The one called out has 3 days to respond to the call out. If the builder challenged does not respond or declines the challenge then the challenger will be rewarded with the victory and the spot.
2. Once the challenge is accepted, the builders have 2 weeks to complete the match. The match can be held on whatever date is agreed upon by each builder and on whatever track can be agreed upon. If the builders cannot agree on a track then it must be held at the Pinewood Performance Shop track. If it is not held at the Pinewood Performance Shop the race is not valid without a race video capturing the match. The video must be sent to DerbyDad4Hire to be included with the results.
3. First one to make the call out takes priority.
4. A builder can be immediately called out again or make a call out if the cars are at the same location and they are within call out range. All challenges must be accepted on match days if the cars are available. You can be strategic with this rule!
Tracking the list:
1. The rankings will be updated after each match. All builders will carry a banner with their current ranking under their forum name.
2. There will be an area of the forum that lists all upcoming matches. There will be a history kept of all match results and builder records.
New to the list:
1. If you don’t qualify for the list initially you can race your way onto it. To get on you will have to beat “The Door Man” to get the last spot on the list. “The Door Man” is the gate keeper of the list and will be available every Monday night to challenge to make your way onto the list.
All builders on the list will have an opportunity to take advantage of a DerbyDad4Hire sponsorship program.
These rules are subject to change to better the racing experience.
