My son went up against 30 other pack winners from around SE Minnesota at the Hiawatha District Pinewood Derby Championship. Last year's winner raced in a heat right before him and hit a high 3.04 seconds. At the pack derby we had 3.03-3.04 times. So depending on how the track was set up I thought he had a good chance but it may be close. I didn't get a chance to check the slope angle but it looked like they had the adjustable feet on maxed out. Then my son's car made it's first run and hit 3.0005 seconds! He continued to get similar times and even broke sub 3 seconds twice with a best time of 2.9929! The next best car never broke 3.036. They used a points system this year so I didn't get to see what his average time was but it is most likely around 3.00-something. Maybe someone can help me do the math based on the scale mph assuming they used the correct distance?

AWESOME JOB!!!! Congrats to your boy.....

Thanks guys. Yes. On to MA's for the car. It will be in the BASX class. We're making a new fender car for MA to run in the scout oil class but still haven't gotten our order for Gee fenders and lighter wheels. The current body won't work with fenders and we wanted to enter a car that fit better with what is allowed in the scout class rules. If our order doesn't get here soon we will just be sending one car since we already registered and paid. If you can't tell I am kind of panicking.
