hi. my son won 1st place in his den and grand champion over the whole pack and now we are on the way to the district championship this weekend. I was wondering if I could get someones opinion on whether I should do anything to the car like regraphiting the wheels or not. He had to race 18 kids in his pack and 4 for grand champion so the car had a long night also he lost the first race he ran I'm guessing because the graphite hadn't been broken down yet, any ideas how to prevent that? thanks

If it was me and I had the time then I would re-graphite. We lay a towl down and turn the car upside down and graphite and spin as long as we can. My son and I also time each spin with a stop watch, I dont know if it helps or not but that way he gets more involved. Congrats and good luck racing

You will need to add graphite or the car will start slowing down more and more. I do the same as chief said and when your done adding graphite I spin the wheels, while holding the car upside down, 10 or 12 times and let them spin until they stop this will break the graphite in so the first run is up to speed.

Keep the tune and just add graphite. Don't pull the wheels and axles, unless you're totally unsatisfied with it. Just puff graphite into the wheel bore from the bottom of the car, next to the body and tap the wheel a little while holding the axle head side down. Spin it a little to work it all the way down into the bore. You can also puff a little behind the axle head and spin it a little.
