We won 1st at the pack race with an average time of 3.17 and just won 1st at the district with the average time of 3.07. 2nd place was 3.13 GO BLACK ICE, we only re-prepped the china wheels with the very strict rules of no wheel modification and stock axles, graphite only. I easily pointed out to the race official over 4 cars that clearly did more the light sanding. It didn't change anything. If we had only used proper graphite instead of something that looked like you get from a lock smith. Still O so close to the sub 3 and yet still so far. 2nd place car was the G-force from derbymonkey. Next weekend is the council race, would like to find a way to get that 2.9 to be safe. I dont know if the change in graphite alone will do it.

I used the DD4HIRE Graphite the last two years with good results. Pledge on the axles and Rocket Red in the Wheel bores. YMMV.

Congratulations on the win. That trophy is gigantic. It's almost as tall as you scout.

Was there a reason you used the Chinese wheels? There are folks on the forum say they are heavier than the American made BSA wheels. You might want to use the Amrican made wheels next time.

Yes, the scout is my nephew they live in Idaho, I am in Utah, I wasn't about to buy a kit or few kits to find a set of wheels. I knew he has a few sets. I got the china wheels some time ago for fun and practice. I prepped them a month ago and was told the race was tomorrow vs the much later date. We did prep a USA set today before I left to swap out and he finally found the hob-e-lub to use for the next race instead of the junk stuff "jar of graphite" he got somewhere. I put a tyima q-tip in the wheel after the race it had nothing on it. The pipe cleaner burnishing did nothing or it didn't stick. We use pledge also.

The black ice car lost .01 or less every run his brothers car lost .3 sec a run from a completely different prep 2 months ago.

The 2 brothers went to the scout council race and placed 1st and 3rd after changing the graphite there average times were 3.04 with a slowest time of 3.07. the 2nd place car had washers after market axles and lighted wheels all breaking the clearly printed rules. I guess we will break out the oil next year.

You won by playing by the Rules. That should make the Win even sweeter. Use Official BSA Wheels, not the ones from Revell, from a known good Mold Cavity and you will be much faster. Revell Wheel are of poor quality and heavier than the Official BSA Wheels. Get your prep supplies and graphite from DD4HIRE.
