Well its hear the 2016 District Cub Scout race this upcoming Saturday At North Town Mall here in Blaine, MN. I stay all day and watch all the cars race (drives my wife crazy) talking to some of the fast car dads. I think some of them are on here by the speeds and track records broken last year. Shout out if you see this. I have repreped both my Webelos and Tiger cars and ready to race. After this is the North Star council race in June sometime down by The Mall of America.

We'll be there this Sat the 12th racing Webelos II. We have a blue car with lights on the sides. You may be able to pick us out in the crowd as my dad, 84 yrs old brings a kind of binocular so he can see the big screen. Hopefully he can make it again. I look like a "not-aged-so-well" Ray Romano.

I may have met you last year. Someone came up to us after the race and asked a bunch of questions. He said he was talking to all the winners that day. If it was you, we had the aircraft carrier car and the MC called my boy up for his last heat and told him if he broke the record a 4th time in a row my boy owed him $20.00. This years car doesn't show that kind of promise but it'll be fun anyways. Are you racing Webelos I or II or will they race them all together. Good luck and if you see us, come on over and say hi. This is our last year racing. What does your car look like?

The fast car last year was light/purple with yellow wheels. He set track record 4 or 5 times. Was that you? We will race tigers and webs 1.

Sorry about the double post. I was trying to edit the first one and made another. I give up for now. Thanks.

Nope. We had the record through Webelos I then in Webelos II our PAck Champion set the new record with that purple car.

Good he will not race this year then, that leaves room on top for me..........

Took 2nd in Tirgers to a pro looking car and 1st in Webolos 1. They had a new 6 lane 42 ft Best track that had a bad last section of track where they meet. Cars were jumping off the track and it was not good.

That track was really rough at the last seam.

When we checked in, a boy scout had cookies on the test section used for the roll test. The adult that checked our car rolled it back and forth and the wheels looked like, without exaggerating, someone rolled them wet in bread crumbs. He tried to put it on the rack like that so we had to get him to give us the car back and clean off the rear wheels. He just said, "eh". Thanks to the awesome shields we got from microbrush we had no cookies crumbs in our wheels.

We also had 3 heats where a car had one front wheel placed on top of the center rail. One of those was ours and some other parents called his attention to it.The kid staging just plopped them up there and no centering or anything was done.

We did well with Track Record set twice and a fastest time of 2.90XX. Thanks to microbrush and his awesome shields. The MC was great and talked to kids and pointed out interesting cars on the line.

I think your car looks like a pro car.

Question about times though. When I divide our accumulated time by the 6 heats we get an average time that's a half second slower than his fastest heat. I checked the times for the second and third place guys and their average is way below any times they had during a heat. Am I missing something? i thought at the time of the race that we only ran 5 heats but family and friends told me he ran 6. I wouldn't think that the first three cars all missed a heat.

We ran 14.782 and 14.750 total times and fastest run was 2.941 and lots of 2.960's , the guy we lost to ran a fastest time before you broke it of 2.9299. We ran 6 runs ea.

So what am I missing? We ran a total time of 14.5746 but when divided by 6 we get an average of 2.4291. What's wrong with my thinking/calculating?

You did very well. 2nd Place in our group had a total time of 14.9455.

Sounds off or your just that fast, if you divide your total by 5 you ran a avg of 2.91 that sounds better. Now what is your secret? I get to run 2 scouts next year then 1 for the next 3 years after that.

We have kept detailed records over the last 3 yrs of our WB, total car weight, DFW weight, LR wheel weight and RR wheel weight as well as steer and total COM. We use this calculator to get detailed info.

We also say a prayer on the way to the race. Not that we will be fastest because God doesn't care if we're fast or not. We just pray that every car would live up to it's potential and that nobody's car gets dropped or broken somehow. We can always live with the results this way.

I'll PM you our numbers for this year. They may not be the best looking numbers to fast guys here as we do things in what others have called unconventional ways but they have worked for us.
