Strictly a guess unless speed scrubs off dramatically beyond the 42' mark. Could be off by 1 second. LOL

it would be cool if there were a timer set at the 42ft mark to see how a car running well on standard length compared to the extra 21ft

That would be nice. Good idea!

These times are going to be where top 3 will be- yes they are WAY under other predictions- we shall see!

To my mind those times are impossible. Even without diminishing speed an Unlimited that runs 42 feet at 2.900 will run 63 (which is 1.5 x the distance of 42) at 4.350 seconds (2.900 x 1.5). Add in the deceleration and who knows. The Unlimited may be the ones that can break Sub 5.0 but they may be the only ones due to the bearings.

The estimations should only be done off the flat side, its the only time you decelerate.
Does anyone have numbers on only the flat section of the 42ft?
Then you could make a better estimate.

Roughly 30'6" of flat on 42'....so about 51"6' on 63'.

An Unlimited only loses around .0018sec/ft in 20 feet of flat on my track. They are incredibly efficient compared to a SS car. It covers the last foot in around .069 seconds on a 32' track. My best SS car (which is not that fast) loses .0037sec/ft over the same flat. I don't think tx is that far off. I have a new track going together right now, I'll wait to post my guess until after it's operational.

I assume the first 9' on a 42' track is actually the slowest by average if you break it into quarter sections. Accelerating from zero to the top speed at the start of the flat, the average speed per section may be higher on the middle sections, the first flat section with the highest average speed?

Here is a way of looking at it- model the 42 ft correct, then extend the track 21 ft. The red line is your speed that increases steady until you come off the curve, then you coast and slow down, but the Unlimited is only slowing from 15.85 down to 15.73 ft./sec and if it continues to 63 ft. to about 15.63 ft/sec.

These diminishing times are just going to multiply as the track gets longer.

ZeebZob's track was used at last years Nationals. I don't have cars that ran on that track set up and on John's track this year. Zeebzob or Tmeyer would likely have this information, at least for the Unlimited and Eliminator class, maybe Rocket Car for the SS class and I believe Zeeb sent in a BASX car this past race. This would be my best guess for gathering this information.
