Well I pulled out the cars tonight to get some numbers. Here they are

Car 1 5oz, 1"COM (thought it was shorter), 5 3/8 Wheelbase

Car 2 6oz, 1" COM, 5 1/4 Wheelbase

Car 3 5oz, 13/16 COM, 4 3/4 Wheelbase

car 1 and 3 are same design, just flipped DFW from right to left just because. car 2 is a slight wedge design. All three cars have canted rear wheels (drilled canted), car 1 and 2 have 1.5 degree DFW, and car 3 has a 2.5 degree DFW.

car 1 best run was a 3.3323, car 3 best run I saw as a 3.3841, car 2 best run was about a 3.39.

My problems that I saw when looking at the cars tonight, first I did not press the axles in enough on any of the cars. If i pusht he wheel up against the body there is a big gap from the underside of the axle head in the outer hub hole. I can only imagine how much time I lost on each car just from the movement back and forth of the wheel. Next I looked close and did a spin test on the rear wheels, all are very quiet even with that big gap, next I did a spin test on the DFW, on car 1 It looks like I did not provide enough clearence and with that movement the wheel can actually com in contact with the body of the car on the inner edge, it was still quiet. Wow I wonder how much time that cost the car with that touching. Last on car 2 the DFW was very noisy. So with all this being said my plans before district are to 1 trim car 1 around the wheel so i have no possible contact. 2 press the axles in more (how much?), 3 repolish the wheels and axles, specificly on car 2 as that DFW sounded like a horrible mess. I know this is a very hard question to answer but with these changes should I pick up a noticeable amount in time on each car. I have the video coming from DD4H so I hope that has some good closeups and real good examples on how to do the polishing as I want to redo things because I do not feel I got it right the first time. Is it possible we can pick up enough that we can knock off about .05 to .08? I am looking forward to hearing some feedback on this. This link is to a picture of car 1 and 2, the angry bird car is car 1, the black and gold is car 2

Birds are a requirement of the six year old. I dare not take them off, I might not ever be heard from again if I did take them off. /images/boards/smilies/wink.gif

Fix the things that you have pointed out. What kind of graphite are you using? Not all graphite's are created equal. Get some of DD4H's if you want the fastest.

It looks like wheel to body interference as you suspected. Not enough axle bend on your steer wheel. Get that wheel leaning.....
