I mainly did this so everyone could see how they stack up if we raced together. I'm going to go ahead and race Pro the rest of the season. My goal is to be in the Top 10 by season end.

Per Resophonic's listing above:

7 cars 2.96x's average -- a 49/1000 th spread
24 cars 2.97x's average -- a 88/1000 the spead
10 cars 2.98x's average -- a 63/1000 spread
6 cars 2.99x's average
7 cars 3.xxx's average

That means the difference between 1st place and 41st place was only 2/100'ths of a second
That is what I call good tight racing.

Thanks for posting those numbers. I'm thinking of running with the pro's also. Let's see if we can give them a run for it.

I had a conversation with John last week. The season kicked off with a bang and there was a seperation from pro and amatuer. Then everyone kicked it up a notch two races into the season and now we have "amatuers turning hot times". Breaking the points out gets a little confusion mid season. So I think we may all have to stay put for the time being until season end. For the fall season I think he would like to go to a true rookie rank at the NPWDRL and everyone else will be a pro. To qualify for a rookie you would have to have raced for less than a year from your NPWDRL debut. Whatever John decides I'm sure it will make since and keep the street stock class exciting.

I want to race against the best. I would enter what ever class has the most entries. I would rather race against 60 cars and finish 40th than race against 6 cars and finish 4th. I agree with a rookie class and maybe have a break out time to keep it interesting for new racers but whatever you do, please dont make 10 different classes of basically the same cars.

Wood Racing,

Currently Street Stock has two break outs, it will never be more than that. What John is trying to do is have a better clarification on Rookie and Pro. It will all be straigtened out for the fall season.

Originally we broke out the classes so cars could run to their full potential. Ever notice how the finals are faster. We also wanted to have tighter racing to keep guys interested each month. I believe we accomplished our goal. Now its time to re-evaluate and and see what works best for the future.

Im hooked... My first race was a solid 3.00 average. Room for improvement- definately! But when the whole field is seperated by .04.... THATS RACIN!

cool

I must say that the new freshman class has an awesome attitude. It used to be 2 seasons before you could figure things out during BOP (Before Oil Process). Now if you started racing in the AOP (After Oil Process) you can compete much quicker. Also the info available now was not as easy to find during the BOP.
