having a problem leaving well enough alone today. thought I would tweak an axel this morning just to damage it beyond any usefulness. started another and got it ready (think goodness for my stash of parts). cant help feeling like this car is too slow. my test track is more of a kids toy than anything I can test on. will have to look into a real track soon.

just venting
..........

back to it I go............

We have all been there! Just remember it's a 7" car disguised as a kids activity. Butterflies are normal, shakes will occur, lost sleep, things purchased and buyers remorse, you will experience high highs and low lows, you will justify silliness, and experience late night loneliness. Remember, it's not the critic who counts, it's the man who is actually in the arena, whos face is marred by dust and sweat and blood. Don't forget to breath and smile during the first stage just preceding the first lap of the rest of you life. No matter what the outcome remember, we are all just as crazy as you and this is all for FUN!

Been there a ton of times and we've only built 5 cars. I think I spend as much time holding the darn car in my hand looking at it as we do actually working it. I look at it, study it, picturing air flow, trying to guess at how strong 1/4" of pine is after either I or my son has cut it too narrow on the sides with router. I wait for it to talk to me...never does but sometimes I think it tells me things...it doesn't.

Between Nov Pack meeting when we get the kit and Council race (if we make it that far) I don't think I even change a light bulb in the house. I just fixed an outlet tonight that my wife asked me about 3 months ago...our final Pack race was a few days ago. Another parent asked me what I was going to do now that my son is done with scout racing and I said, "sleep!".

Darn Districts are March 12th...I hope my wife gets used to taking out the garbage. /images/boards/smilies/thumb.gif

thanks davet!! we had our race this past sat. My son won both den and pack. I was apparently worried over nothing. however there was a lot stronger cars there then last year. I love it when the cars run good. we even had a older car with a camera mounted on it. it was cool
