This was my son's last year racing as a scout. He is more skilled with tools, more focused, and confident in his abilities. It was his intention to repeat as the overall district winner this year, but was topped by another AOL scout. Times on a Freedom track stayed around 2.95. Attached are highlights of this year's build. This year we taught several in the pack, made wheel & axle prep kits, & published a guide. Another pack scout also placed at the district. All of this was possible because of this forum and the countless contributions of its members--thanks!

Congrats with the 2nd place though. Car looks very good and he should be proud of what he made. I am not even sure I could do those fenders as good as your scout did.

He took the philosophy he read on this site of "you don't get fast building one car a year" to heart, so he built 3 cars, about 2 dozen fenders, prepped 3 sets of wheels and 30 axles. Bulldog's video made fenders achievable, but he decided to try making them individually this year, but the 2 cars he mounted them to weren't as fast.
