This year is a patriotic theme

Thanks all. Whatever my boy comes up with we try to build. The tank and missile were both Best of Show winners out of about 40-50 cars.

Looking at the pics you guys have on here shows me how rough ours are and how we have a long way to go. I wish I had another boy coming up so we could keep building.

Too cool- You and the boy do nice work!!

So I hafta ask, was the tank a rail runner once it hit the track/images/boards/smilies/wink.gif

Not a railrunner by design. On the kitchen table we had her set straight and tried to turn axles until the wheels stayed between body and head. I really believe the time on the treadmill made it so smooth. We just run it on the table a couple days ago and it actually turns into rail slightly but against the non-DFW.

We took 2nd in Pack. Had times of 3.011, 2.98, 2.98 and 2.96.
Lost to regular Pack winner who had times of 3.015, 2.97, 2.96, and 2.94. Not sure how he made his keep going faster. He had fenders, we didn't.

Dave, first off congrats to your son on the award and second place finish!

Are those times right? To go from 3.011 to 2.94 is a massive variance. I was hoping you meant 3.011 to 2.996? Fenders would not cause a car to speed up during a race IMHO. I could see a car picking up maybe .010 or so if the graphite was applied heavy before the race. As the excess lube drops out, the car picks up a little.

Cool graphics!

Thanks. Those times are as I remember them. Our den leader is trying to get our time sheets so we can see how close everyone was. I'll post em' if we get them and that will be more accurate.
