That is the right attitude! Reading back I felt I came across a bit harsh but instead of taking it personal you got the point. In my experience you are probably the kind of guy that will pick this up very easy.

The only thing to change from the list is get Jigaloo to replace the dupont and make sure it does not touch your wheels wet. The Cheetah officially went to v3 last night when I watched a brand new racer and customer run 2.957 with an unfendered car with the new cut with no help from me. I am excited to get a set on my car. This one will be a bit tougher for the Doppelganger to duplicate.

Remember this also, if you aren't looking to get into the investment then just race with what you have and try and apply the principles. You can actually race yourself and have fun trying to beat the guys with stock parts.

Clearly I need to get some experience with oil so I watched the Oil DVD again last night.

So this is the list of stuff I need to run in the street stock amatuer class?

From DD4H;
Cheetah V.2 Wheels
92 BSA Axles - ? grooves or no groves? Points or no Points?
#43 carbide bit
Wheel Bore Polish Kit
Axle Polish Kit
Selvyt Cloth
Wheel Bore Applicators
Pipe Cleaners
Krytox Oil
Delrin Washer
Car Carrier
Fenders
Entry Fee for the June Race in Milwaukee

Outside Sources;
Tuning table of some sort
DuPont Blue Can Teflon spray

Already have's;
Silver Bullet
2010 Oil DVD

What else am I missing or do I have wrong?

Any Tips before I get started would be appreciated as to reduce the degree of whoopin received from running against the finest in June.

I got to say AMEN!!! As Well ..

I will be here for a long time and I may never be the fastest and that is ok I am here to have fun, race and Poke Mr. Chips here and there with Sondo, Mofast, Dew36, Reso, Zeebs, Rocket, W&K, My online Chataholic Gravity X and many others ... I have had more fun and life changing events from this board and the guys that rock it here.... Again I know there are good guys else where but I felt at home here and this is where I hang my hat as long as John lets me ... When I fist came here I was wanting to do many things and then I get to reading and reading and found out I can't do as much as I thought I could and wanted to do... But in time I will be where I will be and that is working on the next goal... and when I get that done I will set another and another and so on .. I just want my car to go down that track at race day .. One day it will be faster and better but man what fun I have getting to know these guys....

I still think there should be a chat badge for the Proxy racers that mix it, stir it and shake that chat room during race day ... My buddy Gravity X & I can't sit quiet in a race ... LOL ...

I think I went astray again ...

Without searching here - I know the Dupont changed in late 2010, that would have taken some time to filter thru the supply chain and likely the old stuff is all gone by now.

I will substitue the Jig-a-Loo, who knew - When that stuff first hit Menards it was $2 can.

What about the axles?

Looking forward to some V3's then - will they be available?

Knotthed,

92X grooved, no point axles and in due time, experience.

As someone earlier mentioned patience young grasshopper, patience. It will come to you quick enough, as it did for me. Read, sit back and allow the information here to marinate the brain, the pinewood brain cells will rise to the top. In the meantime, read some more, ask some questions, remain open as the answers roll in, send in your a car(s) monthly, make notes, ask more questions, rinse and repeat. Before you know it you will rise in the top 50 ranks.

@PapaV Who says we chat a lot on the race day chatline? Yeah, we did our best keeping the chat(ter) board alive that day. I do get a little chatty when race day rolls around, as do you. This place is absolutely fun. I've had a blast since finding this board early on. As PapaV said, I'll keep my hat hanging here as long as John allows me. I've learned a bunch, as some can attest and couldn't have done it without the helpful people here on this forum. Here I am rambling again.... time to go!

Oh yeah! Forgot to mention an AMEN to John's earlier statement.

The Cheetah officially went to v3 last night...

How soon before they will be available? I need to place an order for other items too.

AW MAN !!!!I just bought some cheetahs last week, darn it now I got to save up again.

I have been removing just the very edge so they run quite, but you can still see and feel the bumps on the surface, just not where it rolls. Our pack rules, they just say you have to see the bumps.
Are the bumps still visible with the NPWDRL version?

You are a smart man Monty. There will be very little evidence of any bumps with the mod. You can still do this yourself with some sandpaper but it won't be as clean and you have to watch taking off too much weight. They resemble a Max V wheel.

My Grandson (11) was helping me with his little brothers car (7) and he was down just past the curve to watch for wiggles, and he said " Grandpa- didn't you say the fastest cars will be the quietest cars?" I said "That's right", He said "well this car is fast, but it makes a racket" My high frequency range is long gone, but I could could hear it once it was pointed out to me. We took the DFW off and looked under the microscope and WOW, it was obvious what was making all the noise. We put the wheel back on the car, and carefully rotated the wheel by hand while the car rested on different grit sandpaper until it was smooth, but not polished . Put it back on the track and noise was gone and car was faster. I can't say who had the biggest smile, Me or my two Grandsons. Then we did the same mod to his old District winner and it ran even faster. He then said that this should be another secret we do not tell anyone. I agreed, but I instantly recalled a number of posts where I think those in the know hinted about this.
