I'm entering cars for the first time. Scout pinewood derby with my son is just not enough. I made a BASX and an Unlimited car. I had bought wheels, bearings and axles and put the unlimited car together to show the Scouts that there is a whole other wold of pinewood derby. I don't have very high hopes after watching some videos and seeing things that I did wrong but you need to start somewhere. Plan on building a Street Stock, Street Pro and Eliminator cars. Any tips on building and tuning cars in all divisions will be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,

Matt

Each class is unique and takes a little different tune to be competitive.
You have picked the two very opposite ends of the spectrum with BASX and Unlimited
BASX and Eliminator are probably the easiest bodies to build. Street Rod, Street Pro and Street Stock are more involved builds. To keep from getting overwhelmed, I would suggest concentrating on a couple of classes and run multiple cars in each. Once you have mastered those classes you can branch out.

Glad to see you jumping into league racing. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. Like I said I'm pretty certain my cars will not be competitive. I am anxious to see them run. Never ran cars on a good aluminum track before. How long have you been competing at this level of PWD?
