Fun Filled Pinewood Derby Weekend!

This should be a fun PWD weekend.

Sunday we get to watch NPWDRL’s April Race. Good luck to all the racers! Chief, I expect big things from you. Your mission if you choose to accept it is to take out the “Unbeatable One” – QT . . . no offense Joel.

On Saturday (tomorrow) is our District Cub Scout Race. We’re expecting over 300 scouts. Each rank will compete in separate races throughout the day, and the top three winners in each will advance to the District Grand Championship Race at the end of the day. We are the reigning district champ for the past four years, but we’re a little nervous about this one. There are some up and coming whipper-snappers who frequent this forum that just might knock us off the hill. It will be an exciting race for sure.

The ranks have different schedules throughout the day so the racers and spectators don't have to be there too long. The top 3 racers can go home and come back later or stick around.

Now for the people that are working it, like me . . . yeah, it's going to be a long day. But hey, it's pinewood derby and enjoy helping out with events like this.

My son's district races are tomorrow too. The pack champ races don't start until 2pm. There is an all comers scout and open race before hand. Wish I made a car for myself to run in the open and implement what I learned here.

We have council tomorrow. With the extra help yo all provided and the test track, we look real good to take it. Just in time to make mid-america, where we will be spanked.
