Ok guys I ordered some Gee fenders from john and a whole lot of other stuff. I have the block to drill holes with. My question is five and half wheel base ok for these fenders or can I go a little bit longer on the wheel base? Just wanted to go ahead and drill the holes and work on the car before the parts get here..

5-1/2" may be a little too long for these fenders, they may extend beyond the front of the car. The most I have gone is 5-1/4", if I remember correctly, leaves just enough room to install the fender to the very front of the car. I can measure them when I get home this evening to let you know for sure. I'm sure some one else will chime in to say one way or the other.

Thanks guys a lot!! I will go 5 inches for now. Its a scout race and graphite. Just trying to get a little bit more speed. I bet u guys have never heard that before. I have been eyeing the rookie class. What wheels would b the best for that class.

I will wait until tonight to drill holes. Thanks again guys a lot!!
ok

The NPWDRL Street Stock Am class? DD4H Cheetah's for sure!

AGREED!

Well... I stand corrected, Hogan's Racing is correct, 5" wheelbase is about the max you can go without modifications. I just measured one of my cars I have set up where the front fenders extend to about 1/8" back from the front edge of the body, anyhow the wheelbase is 4-7/8".

Thanks GravityX for the information!! Do you like those fenders and if so any gains out of them? Thanks guys for the inputs!!

Just got the phone with john. What a nice guy! My order kept getting canceled ( due to my fault) John reran my order and it went through.Fenders are on the way and a box for my car to b shipped in. Thanks guys for all the information! /images/boards/smilies/thumb.gif

That's awesome! I was an aircraft mechanic until I blew out both of my elbows. My grandpa worked on P-51's in WWII and was on Iwo Jima when the marines raised the flag in the famous picture.

Now that's great stuff. I am a commercial pilot ( That's what pays the bills) I all so fly some warbirds. Currently flying a T-6. Trying to get ready for reno races. The plane place 3Rd last year. Just trying to get these little cars to go as fast as my plane. I hate the graphite but that's our cub scouts for u. The pack race the car averaged a 3.0192 (got first). But we did not have fenders on it. Ordered some from john today! Maybe that will help a little more. I have never built a car that went under the sub 3 mark. But still trying for that mark. Ordered a legend car box for when I get brave enough to send in a car for am. class on day.

Just put on a set tonight on my sons last years pack and district winner along with some better wheels and axles to race in the dads "old farts"
race/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif Can't wait to see how our times compare to last year.
