I got mine " free " from Glass guy who needed his sons cub scout car to run really fast
blah
But call some commercial glass companies who remove glass from big busineses , they could save you a piece after their install for say "beer" money.
idea
...SPIRIT.....
Beer!! Did I see beer in this post. I'll do it!!
lol
Wait !! what am I agreeing too! I use a 24" x 6' piece of glass with the first 2' having a rail.

Rocket, just curious about the rail. Do you let the rail guide the car at first to line it up before it roams on the last 4'? I could see where that would give it enough roll to set the wheels. Might make for a more accurate read on the steer?

Yes, it is much more accurate than just setting the car on a piece of glass.

Mine was 24" by 8ft. Two prices. $60 for 1/4 inch. $40 for 1/8". Regular glass company for residential and commercial windows. This is in Colo.
I had already built my table, so I took it down, and for that price they cut the glss for an exact fit. I'm quite happy with the result.
I also went to 5kids site, copied his diagram to be put under the glass (one a usb drive). Went to Staples, and they printed my a copy 2 x 8 feet, including putting the Icon (OPARENNEN to the left). They printed it on a banner, I could choose a plastic or a thick paper sheet. I used paper, because it was half the cost ($30), and I figured it would never tear being under a glass protection.
Did you secure the paper print to the underside of the glass?

I can't speak for Opa but on mine the graphic is just sandwiched between the glass and a sheet of 1/2" MDF. The shop that cut my glass warned me that even 1/4" thick glass like I used would sag over time if not supported so besides the MDF sheet I added crossmembers every couple of feet underneath. It's been together for a few years now and is still dead flat.
