Well, this years scout race is in the books. Thanks to the wealth of information available here, and tips from many of you, we were able to take first and second place in our pack. Our average times were 2.54 and 2.55 for the two cars on a 35 foot besttrack. I know that each track is different and you can’t make meaningful comparisons, but I did it anyway. The speed we were running today... 2.54 sec / 358 inches ( racing length of a 35 foot best ) = ~.007 sec per inch. Now to scale that up... .007 * 442 inches ( racing length on a 42 foot best ) = 3.13 seconds. Looks like I’ve got a lot of work to do...

Congratulations!!! Do you plan to jump into a pro race?

Congratulations!!!!

Your have a good start, though, just knowing that you have time to improve.

Keep building, keep practicing your processes, and finding ways to improve them, and you will see those times drop hard

Thanks, guys. Now that the scout race is behind us, I’ll begin building a BASX car for league racing.

I think you would be surprised what those cars would actually run on a 42' track. The conversion of my league cars running on my 35' Besttrack to the 42' track at NPWDRL is 117%, certainly there are many factors at play, but for you that would be 2.9718, so you might be a lot better off than you think!

Only one way to know for sure. I’ll have to jump in and see what happens.

Post some pictures. We'd love to see those cars.

Those wheels are current production. I bought all they had at the scout store. Cherry picked the best ones. You can’t see it in the pics, but that white wheel is raised. And canted at the same angle as the rears.
