Well the family vacation is over, now it's go time! I got to build a lot of new cars for the 63ft. monster! To many of you guys are getting way to fast, time to hit the drawing board!
Please WK don't ever buy a track! GS1, would you slow your eliminator down a little! In fact all of you guys slow it down some for this race. Come live too if you can, it's nice to be able to watch some of the racing instead of staging all day!

I hope you had a great vacation!

63 feet of track will be a monster! I'm just going to be trying the old fleet with some tweaks to get to the other end of the track.

Test track has been a learning curve for me and actually slowed me down some, but it's coming back slowly. Still learning the ins and outs of tuning and how minute adjustments can make big changes in times. I'll be back with some speed real soon.

LOL Joel!!! New car builds? Damn everytime you post something like this the following race your cars are all that much faster!!!

I better make a few changes and find more speed or ill be smelling tail pipe fumes the whole race....

of course it doesn't help reading a post that the "master" will have a car in each class! Darnit John HAHA....

Well got a little testing done today. Mostly crap, but I think I figured out why a couple cars fell out last month. And that's good at least.

good for u and bad for us Joel!!!! LOL..... jk

I did find an interesting problem with one of my cars that didn't do well that ill share because it illustrates an important point....

I got a very good tip a bit back from John about using dental floss in the drilled axel holes to help make them a bit more snug if its too loose (I know this has been talked about so I don't think im giving any big hint away but if I did sorry John!) It worked like a charm! However that's not the point of this story....

the point is I did not catch at install or tuning, that a small part of the floss was hanging just a bit out above the surface of the washer after the wheel was in place. Being that this was on the dfw where the inner hub rubs on the washer, well now the wheel was riding partly on a piece of wax dental floss....needless to say I did not find a new mores frictionless surface than the delrin inserts...wax dental floss is definitely not more slippery than the washer LOL...obviously I didn't pick it up during tuning on my board as I was just watching for steer really...but found it when I got my car back after the race and began inspecting it all over trying to figure out why it didn't run well...and then I saw that little white tip of floss sticking right up against the axel right above the washer.....

So the lesson, BE METICULOUS and VERY CAREFUL! Check/inspect your cars 2 or 3 times or more to ensure its ready before throwing it in the box....Don't take anything for granted including he smallest things such as dust and lint....even the smallest thing can lead to speed losses....and it just takes .00x seconds or even less loss in speed to go from making the finals down to the middle of the pack nowdays!
