well i went with Lief tonight to Cub Scouts, and printed out about 50 flyers about the CFC race to hand out. all giddy about the scout turn out this year....then was told that was the date of the district race..
wah
while trying to figure out how to salvage the night, a woman sat next to Tawnya and I and asked if Girl Scouts could attend and participate in the race. I was in a funk at the time and said sure, every could race. she then asked if there could be a special race for the girl scouts, I said if there was enough interest and at least 25 to 30 cars entered i could do it. She informed me that she was the regional coordinator for the Girl Scouts of America and she thought she could get 200 ish girls and their cars there!

at this point i bout fell on the floor. She explained they had been racing for about 2 years and liked it. I told her i would make it happen.
i lost alot of Cub Scouts to the district race, but gained 3 times that number in Girl Scouts.
all things considered, i came out ahead as a bunch of the Cub Scout parents said they
were coming to the CFC over the District race. i needed bodys for the live attendance, 200 Girl Scout cars should bring the head count to over 450 - 500.

yes it is, i guess when i needed it the most the chip finally fell my way. i was not worried about car count, but i really needed this race to have a huge live turnout, i cant really explain it, but for this race it was important. now it looks like it will happen, and i just have to figure out a girl orientated sponsor to help out , any suggestions?? also, John can you digg me up any pink wheels for door prizes?

lol

You're the one I really feel sorry for, due to the fact of you getting smoked by someone that just got smoked by a bunch of girls.

the way the track is set up does not allow easy access. that, and i am totaly not afraid of bellering over the 8,000 watt house system. that and more than a few of the methodist men are going to be doing trackside duty for me. good question though. and its one of the few things i am not worried about.

and Derby Freak will be roaming the track growling at people.

well, the girl scouts are a wash. turns out they cant be bothered to drive the 15 miles to get here. i offered to provide the trophy's for them (about 20 of them ) and everything else. oh well, mean the day wont be as long.
