graphite and oil

My apologies if there are posts on this .... tried reading thru as many as I could but ended up just making a post.

Will be sending in a car in March and is our first attempt at oil....while I think I got the polish and oil process down (nice DVD by the way!)....I did read other posts about still rubbing in graphite into the the sides of the car where the wheel might touch the body, as well as rubbing graphite on the inner wheel tread surface where it might rub on the center divider...and I believe some stated to also rub graphite onto the inner and outer hub surface....

While I think it should be safe for the body and inner surface of the wheel tread....did I misread about also rubbing in graphite on the inner and outer wheel hub surface even for oil cars....I guess my worry would be if I would inadvertently get some small graphite particles into the bore which would then mess up the oil....I believe its a given that oil and graphite DONT mix....

I will certainly buff and polish the side of the car and the hubs with the polish 2 of the DD4H kit and graphite the inner wheel tread surface but getting close to the hubs with graphite seems a bit dangerous for me as a first timer LOL....advice?

I'm still trying to get this contact area improved. My best method so far(maybe that's why I'm not winning) is the polish the sanded wood, let dry and then rub graphite or moly into the area. The polish helps hold the graphite there longer. The polish soaks into the wood. I don't use graphite on the wheel hubs if I'm using oil. Anyone else have a better method?

thanks for the ideas....the washers would certainly be a nice and great fix....ill likely use that for the NPWDRL races...but for my own troop race, pads or discs between the wheel and body are illegal, ill go with the polish of the sides and then rub graphite in and dust off well.

Ill just stay away from the hubs altogether as far as graphite goes if i am using oil LOL.
