???Graphite???

To make a good graphite wheel use the polishes. After the 2nd one do not clean it out but instead dump some graphite in the bore and using a Q-tip shaft slowly burnish in the graphite. Rub graphite on the contact surfaces and blowout with compressed air and your wheel will rock! Do not polish treads of rear wheels.

Would you burnish with the qtip by hand or in a drill? It's very hard to burnish by hand, but I worry about messing up the polishing job with a drill.

Do you add graphite again when putting the wheels on the car?

I have used both the DD4H polishes and tried to burnish in the graphite with a Q-tip and a extra fluffy pipe cleaner but under a 30X loupe it is very shiney but dosen't seem to have a silver coating like the cone on the hub has. is this normal?

With this process do you still add graphite in the hub after assembly?

Definitely add graphite to the hub before putting the wheels onto the car. I use John's polish to the wood where the wheel makes contact. I rub graphite into the polish afterwards. The polish keeps the graphite in place. I don't paint this area, just John's polish and graphite and or moly.

So I have watched the DVD several times and polished axles and wheel bores. I'm at the stage of burnishing graphite into the wheel bore. I used a fluffy pipe cleaner in a drill to buff the wheel after polish 2 as shown in the DVD. Based on the quote above, I should put more polish 2 in there with a fluffy pipe cleaner, wait until dry and then dump some graphite in and burnish with a Q-tip shaft, skipping the step with a fluffy pipe cleaner and polish 2? Blow it out with air when done?

A related question. Should I try to burnish some graphite on the axles in a drill with a string will it just fall off as they are smooth and hard?

Thanks
