halloween topic: if you died tomorrow ...

Any "secrets" that I might have are not really secrets, because I know that I have spoken what I know to at least one other person(s), somewhere along the way. What they choose to do with it, well.... I've tried my secrets and apparently my "secrets" turn out to be no secret to speed after all or are they? Stay tuned...

....I still need another .009 at least! I only ended up in 6th because I think a few guys were coasting now to lull their competition into a false sense of security before the finals.
There may be some truth in that Stephen, but you still laid down some awesome times! I was certainly impressed!

I don't know if anyone was holding back or not but .009 out usually lands you somewhere between 15th and 20th place so something appears to be skewed. Got to be something in my prep that's not quite there. Hope I can find it before December! Either that, or I need to find a witch doctor to throw a chicken bone hex on my competition.

BR, With the track record being broken multiple times by multiple racers, hard to say that anyone was coasting.
I think you made a huge leap forward. Only a matter of time now before you break through with a win.

Congrats!

Well said Brian!

Hmmmmmm.... a trip to make an offering at Marie LaVeau..... a PWD body, axles, and wheels at her tombstone... I wonder if that would help ?!?!?!?!

idea

It probably would have been more effective yesterday.

I have no secrets either because you guys taught me everything. Everything I know is already documented...not in my notes but here. There is a lot of sifting through info that needs to be done though to use this site effectively and that takes time.

Last year prior to our District race I offered a workshop to help get our racers prep and possibly get faster. I showed them how we smooth and polish our axles and wheels, how we weight our cars and even LB's alignment method. I had a powerpoint and several tuning boards with mock cars with bent axles to show the effects of twisting the axle. Only 7 people showed up. I even shared my oil with my entire den prior to the Pack race though a few didn't take it. There were some that joked that I was giving them oil with sawdust in it.

I offered to do it again this year but the Pack Admin decided they would rather I just offer a workshop for beginners building for the first time. So, we'll (my son and I) show how we shape our cars, weight them, and align them. I'll show how we start the build early so that my son and I can work together without time stresses. How I show him to use different tools. I'll show some homemade tools I made for finding round wheels and for cutting the K-House groove. Nothing fancy, just basic stuff. This is our last year so I would be fine with a den asking me to come in and show them what we know.

That's awesome, I'm preparing to do a garage day for our pack for the first time in January. We are planning to have between 10 & 15 kids & their parents. I want my pack to clean up at the District race, and maybe send more than my two boys to the Council race.

It's a challenge to come up with good worksheets from scratch. I saw some sheets that 5kids came up with, and I've started building my sheets using his examples.

Davet, Any chance I could take a look at your Powerpoint and/or handouts?

I could try to scan and PM you what I had last year. I'll try to find the PP I used too. Don't expect anything great, I'm 2 finger typing this right now and I'm not a computer guy. Watch for it in the next couple of days.
