Hardening Wheels Where Axle Head Meets Wheel

I have some of this. Has anyone tried going this route?

There is a version which is just as slippery and costs less called Opti Coat Gloss.

What you're asking may or may not be part of someones secret process. I have not tried that one but have tried others like it. Most coatings are definetly scout fast but not pro fast.

Good to know you have gone through the work already! I figured it would be tedious to get it right, but if no one tried it, I was going to try.

One thing I WILL be trying, unless someone else has found it not to work, is the Wolfgang polish and sealant before the final coat of Red Rocket.

This stuff is by far the most durable sealant I have found. Here in Wisconsin, I can put it on in September, and water is still beading up on the paint in May!

If there is anything tougher than this, in this category, I would be surprised.

If you have any of the products left over and are willing to share, by all means, share with the rest of us. /images/boards/smilies/biggrin.gif

But like Kinser said, some of it maybe "scout fast but not pro fast".

Do you have a track at home you can use to run tests?
I believe most of us do. If you would like to test on a track yourself the ZeebZob speedshop is just 1- 1 1/2 hrs from you.

You should totally hang out with Zeebzob's unruly band of heathens if you've got the opportunity. I'm always so jealous when I read about his tuning nights where they hang out, drink beer, eat pizza and run cars down his sweet, sweet, 42 foot Best Track...

It takes about 4 hours to get to Milwaukee from where I am in La Crosse, but it sounds like it might be worth the trip at some point.

I wouldn't do any promising for Andy, but I have to say ... I resemble that remark !!
