Hill angle/times

Today we set up track at the appropriate hill angle. Our Best Track is a bit off if you set it up and level
from the standard hill section. Had to add over 1/2" to really be on the money at 27.1.
Of course track was leveled with laser and hill angle checked with a digital level. The original angle was
somewhere around 26 deg. with no shims.
Times do really speed up with that slight change in deg., substantial speed.
Just goes to show how track set up and the hill angle really do make it hard to compare times from track to tracks.

If you exhale behind your car it will speed up too. This is why you don't see QuickTime behind the cars at the starting gate when the cars take off in league.

I think I am ready to attempt to send in my first car, thinking about sending in
a basx car first- To check times. Just need to get a shipping box first.
I know the series has already started, okay to still send one in?

I was in the same boat with my track. My track was about .02 slow, you will never know unless you send one in. I'm really glad I did. This month I'm working on 3 to send in, just waiting on some wheels baby!

I am curious where did the 27.1 angle come from? The best track that we have
is over 1/2" short to make that angle. If its level and no shims its only somewhere around
a flat 26 degree angle.
I will have to get a shipping box, I guess I will order on Monday and try to get one built.

I sent my first 3 ever in, now working on a fleet to go in Feb now that I have some baseline times to work with. By Fall I may be faster, but so much fun.

I explain in it episode 4 or 5 of my podcast, but basically the main league that everyone was racing at had it set to 27.1. Everyone wanted to get their tracks to be the same so someone put a digital level on the league track.
Depending on where your legs are attached or if they do not have leveling feet may require shims. If you move the legs down (closer to the curve) the angle will be steeper.
