Me yet again....
My daughter wants her car to look like a smooth car on showroom floor not painted wood. I know there is a product. Wood filler? Something to put or brush on the car then sand it then paint and it looks totally smooth. I saw a product on some derby site but Home Depot or menards must sell a similar product.

Home Depot sells wood sealer....it is a primer and grain seal. Tell her to sand down to the shape she wants, then brush the sealer over the whole thing. Let dry and then resand to a high grit.....say 600/800, prime, wet sand to 1000 grit, spray first coat, dry wet sand to 2000, second coat, dry, wet sand to 3000, dry, wet sand to 3000, dry, clear coat, wet sand to 3000, top clear coat, dry, finish with a high gloss synthetic wax, buff, cure, buff with a slick spray show wax hand buff out with a non shedding chamois....boom done. Should take about 7-10 days. And a light spray finger with a ton of patience.

Just sand smooth, then spray primer. Sand lightly, and prime again. Sand lightly, then thin layers of spray paint, maybe sand a bit if desired. Then finish with s few thin light coats of clear coat. don't get impatient and keep spraying, take your time. Getting heavy handed with the paint will make it wet and leave runs in the paint.

Spray coats of primer until you no longer can see the wood grain. Testors Extreme Laquer spray paint sold at about any hobby store works great on wood and dries fast.
