How fast are you guys at 35 feet?

Let's not run him off before he even races with us guys. Oxford, if you've got DerbyDad helping you you'll do fine, he won't steer you wrong. Don't feel bad either, the car in your avatar is a work of art.

DD is building a SS car for me now. We consulted on the phone. i will reverse engineer it for my other cars that I will build from parts etc... but felt I would learn more holding a pro level car in my hands than in trying to figure it all out on my own.

I will also let my girlfriend enter it in the unlimited class at the local race in january

I agree with Kinser and do not mean to discourage you from participating. Times will be different on every track you run on. Best approach is to send a car in and see how you stack up. Race the clock starting out.

You have a big advantage in getting a car made by John to reverse engineer. Good luck!

The main thing here is to first of all, send your cars in this August. Get your times on the league track and then compare them to the track you are using to tune your cars. As mentioned, everyone's track here is setup slightly different and times will vary from track to track. My cars on another track will show different times than on my track. Don't be discouraged before you get started here. Have fun!

i don't get discouraged and probably think like you guys in a linear inductive, deductive manner. hey, it's all physics anyway with perhaps a few x factors. if i am slow it only means i am where i am at the moment. /images/boards/smilies/wink.gif

I'll have to give that method of finishing a car a shot sometime, thanks for sharing the details. You would laugh if I told you my method- I like yours much more.

My best advice is to stick with John, pick up his DVD and frequent this helpful forum- if a dog does all that he should be as good as gold/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif
