Inadvertent three wheeler

I drilled the block 4 flat no canting and after cutting the body out and sanding it down when I put the wheels on the back left wheel is not completing touching. When I roll it you can see that the wheel is not rolling as much as the others. When I place the weight in the weight pockets then the right front wheel is doing the same thing but the back is fine. The race is for a track that does not have a center rail so no rail riding. I know three wheel are faster but do you think I will be fine for the race?

Any advice would be great. Thanks and love the forum.

Since you likely have big weight pockets in the back, if you didn't have any weight in it and the block was drilled to have one raised wheel the back wheel will likely come up. The back without weight is likely lighter. Then when you added weight the front lifted like it was likely designed to do. Even though you have no center rail you want only want 3 wheels touching unless it is explicitly prohibited in your rules. You can also still ride the rail, it will just be the outter rail on the side of the dominant wheel. There are several posts that go into great detail how to set up a rail rider for your track.

When you have to build a 4 wheel touching car, wouldn't you WANT to have the NDF wheel "just barely" touching?

That's the way I've always build them. No rule says it has to bear the same amount of weight...just that it has to touch. "Just barely" touching...is touching. Heck, at the Pack race this year, they were rolling the cars on a piece of wood on the table to see if all 4 touched. I had checked it on my track at home and knew it just barely touched. They said "one wheel isn't rolling" and my response was "How about checking it on the track. It's not going to race on the table". And it rolled on the track.

So I make them "just" touch, then lube the heck out of the tread so if it does it won't grip. Not sure if a DD4H 4 wheel touching body would be drilled this way or not, though.
