I do bend the axle for the DFW, but I've also started drilling about 3 degrees of positive cant into the DFW hole. Then I bend the axle about 1.5 degrees. This makes the twist-for-steer a lot less sensitive than if I was using a 3+ degree bend in the axle, and is less frustrating for me to try to get the proper toe.
