Don't think you want to use alcohol as it will not disolve the BT when recleaning the axles. I ended up using acetone and toothbrush to get it off. Actually I think it was the toothbrush that removed it.

Hey Guys,
So we shook the Blue Thunder bottle for approx. 5 minutes. We then dipped the axles in the bottle and shook off the residue, however immediately after dipping the liquid became thick and like mayonaisse. Now that it is dry, it looks and feels like wax. Please advise what next steps we should take.
We have 2 kids racing this Saturday, and any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Heidi
make sure you clean your axles completely after the polish. Jig goes on aclean axle.OPARENNEN said:heidi said:I originally posted under "Canada" thread, but this is obviously the better topic related thread. See picture under post #27.

Clean the axles completely with alcahol, polish them with Brasso for 5 seconds, then use Jig-a-loo in place of the BT.
Shake off excess, then let J-a-L dry for over half hour b4 putting wheels on.
J-a-L works almost as well, and is what we all used b4 BT.
You'll be fine,.

rahall said:LOL You all are missing the key thing in using Jig a loo. If you knew it you would never think blue thunder is in the same class.
