How much do you spray on the axles?

Do you soak it pretty good, or do more of a light coat to barely cover it?

Thanks,

Jim

i swapped sprayer nozzles with a can of paint to get the fine mist pattern, seems to save on how much you use

Similar question here, other than using Jig a Loo instead of DuPont blue, what else is modified in John's process shown in the video?

First off don't get discouraged if your questions don't get answered. You guys are starting to get into the deep questions here. A lot of us have spent 1000's of dollars and countless hours to develop our system. This is a competitive league, and we're all here to win. The best advice I can give you is to take the information provided and do your own testing. The info to be competitive is here, take it, use it, and develop some of your own information. /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

I still follow the exact process from the DVD except I have replacements for pipe cleaners. Other than that it should work like a charm for you even with the pipe cleaners as long as they don't scratch your bore.

I'm not sure if it's good or bad? /images/boards/smilies/confused.gif

You struggled and I struggled. Now, with what DerbyDad has given us, it's easy for a new guy to be very competitive. The edge has gotten much thinner and it's harder to stay on top. That's why I'll keep some things secret. A lot of other racers are thinking it, I'm just saying it. lol /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

What did you replace the pipe cleaners with? Lol!! Fellow racers, Kinser hit that nail on the head, here is a piece of advise I got from Daddio a long time ago,& I am sure he won't mind me sharing it with the new racers: "if you are getting beat, and you are wanting to know how come, ask questions & listen to what you're being told, & if you are doing what you have been told by the guys you are getting losing to, don't question their answer..you probably just did something wrong, no big deal, a competitor will always keep trying before asking why did your info not help" The one thing that I have realized over the last couple of years is, when you do get the puzzle figured out, there is always another one waiting to be put together. Take care,

It is important for the new guys to understand a few critical lessons.
1. Nobody is going to tell you EVERYTHING they have figured out. You might be able to buy the information on the black market but don't expect to know every single trick.
2. If somebody says they are telling you EVERYTHING then chances are you are going to chase your tail and get frustrated. When building these cars even leaving out one small step can slow you terribly.

Be very careful about the information you get. I recall a few years ago tearing apart the fastest pure stocker I had ever made BY FAR after getting a guaranteed speed tip and the car was never even close again.

If you need to know if something will work or not feel free to ask me and I will give you an honest answer if I have any experience with it. You might want to PM me to make sure I see the question. THis board is really hard to keep up with all the action!

MOST IMPORTANT... Enjoy the climb!!! The learning is the best part.

I completely understand nobody wanting to give away any secrets. I'm not a league racer, just the dad of a scout /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif I spent a lot of cash last year before figuring out to get John's video and do exactly what he showed. It paid off and my son did great. This year it was simple, got a fresh batch of everything from John and will be doing the same as last year. The only reason I asked about the Jig-a-loo, was because I have a can of it as well as the spray mentioned in the video.

Back on topic! The Jig works like a charm but it is a wheel killer if misused. For scout racing either one will suit you fine... or you can use BLUE THUNDER! Better than blue can and won't hurt wheels.

Sorry for kicking off this discussion guys. I just thought from the way the posts read that John's process had changed from the video and it was open knowledge. I wouldn't ask any racer to give away their hard earned process. The Internet is great, but sometimes it is so easy to assume you know what is being said, when it ain't so!
