jig in wheel bores

anybody tried jig in the wheel bores after putting it on a pipe cleaner for 30 min

i guess jig on bores wont work cuz there need to be hard waxed suface

There is a thread a long one about that subject... Just got to find that bad boy... It had to do with buying it through a local person and it went to other questions...

Jig will eat the wheel bore insides if you apply it wet, like with a pipe cleaner.
Or don't I understand the direction this thread is going?

The old thread mentioned that if you let the jig sit on the pipecleaner sit for 15 min the solvents (which damage the bore) evaporate leaving only the silicon to sit over your waxed bore. Never done it, just read the that posting recently though,

I tried it when I first started racing. I sprayed a pipe cleaner, let it sit for 30 min. then ran it through the bores. I did all my prep work first then did this last before assembly. I found no speed, but it didn't hurt the bores any.

Your prep to the bores likely saved the wheel for any deterioration from the Jig. But as you said if all the solvents are allowing to evaporate this could be safe, but I'd still want some protection in the wheel bore just in case.
