And wanted to say thanks to Xanthrum for putting on a great event. It was a long (14.5 hour) ride but worth every minute for the memories my son and I will have.

I also want to give a BIG thank you to John for his products and everyone here for their free advice. We ran John's Mid America wheels, John's axles and a pre-drilled block. We also had Johns polishing kit for axles and wheels, plus Legends. We were really nervous because we had never run backward wheels before and do not have a track to test the car. I felt safe with four inches over four feet steer, but i was still nervous.

Anyway, thanks to some fabulous products ( i am a customer for life now) my sons car won first in Webelos and was second overall in the open graphite division. He does all of the polishing and sanding on his wheels and axles and does most of the woodwork n the body, except for the scroll saw cuts. He was so proud his smile never left the entire ride home.

Thanks again. This is one of those special father/son weekends we will never forget.

Nice job and congrats to you and your son for placing so well!

clap

Congrats
We were 6th and 9th in open scout and our third car finished out of top 12 by .0042 (somehow the car threw up a 3.15 on the black lane). I was wondering who the top 3 belonged to. You guys ran well all day. Congrats again, it's nice to put some names with the cars. BTW did you get to re-graphite before the finals ? The boys all say that we are going next year. Should be a fun road trip /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif
