I'm new here and just wanted to say hello. I've been in cub PWD for over 10 years. My sons and I are the ones that most people whisper about and always have a target on our backs. I still have so much more to learn. It all started when my now oldest one ( is now 17) was a tiger and after finishing 2nd in the pack looked up at me and said "daddy how can we make it go faster?" well that's all it took. I read books, bought a cheap practice track, researched different designs, bought tools, my wife is very competitive and all I have to say is" its to make them go faster" and she's all in.

I run workshops for the pack to try and make things better. no one likes to see a car stop short of the finish line.

My 7 year old (wolf) has a race coming this sat (may not happen due to possible snow storm) and I was researching ways to go faster (because you can always go faster) and people are giving a serious effort to put me and my son out of the winners circle (that's fine with me I love the completion)

I have picked up tons of info from this site and may have found the greatest thing of all NPWDRL My oldest and I are thinking of entering on the feb 13 race.

currently working on a rail runner form my youngest. searching and reading all the info I can find on here.

well I guess that's enough for now. I look forward to meeting you all and sharing what I know ( how ever little that may be.)

Welcome aboard, once you're here, there's no looking back! It's a great time, come join use over at the new NPWDRL league forum for all the race information you need.

thanks for all the welcomes!!!! I'm sure that I have found my way home. I have been looking for a PWD club here local to the middle TN area, but I couldn't find one. Now I have this place!!!.

Welcome and don't be shy!!

Its a little scary when you first start so here are some tips.

1. Build and send in to NPWDRL, (greatest place to race)
2. Hook up big screen TV to your laptop
3. hook up another laptop for instant messaging (a tablet would work)
4. gather your boys when its time to watch (make a bunch of food)
5. race against yourself and or find a buddy that is about the same speed.
6. and start talking it over to see what they've heard!!
7. Then come to Mid-America Pinewood derby/nationals. One of the greatest Scout Pinewood derby experiences in the world. http://www.mid-americaderby.com/

Hello and welcome fellow rookie. It didn't take me long to decide I have to put in for the 6th - 8th of May off at work for Mid America. Beware. The "bug" they talk about acts quickly.
